As anthropologist Ulf Hannerz expressed since the early '90s, GLOBALIZATION, SPORT AND POLICY (Hannerz, 1992: 217) Almost twenty years ago, the Swedish anthropologist Ulf Hannerz sketched the above scenario of a mosaic of languages, music and nationalities coming together in the Eurovision Song Contest. He is also a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences., the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
